Player's Weekend 2018

This year I can say we are blessed to participate in Player's Weekend 2018.

From Friday through Sunday, major league players will be using a different type of custom bat. The rules typically limit bat bat colors, logos colors, and do not allow player-name branding or styles outside of standard regulations.

However, this weekend is different!

We had a lot of fun making these!

For those of you who don't know me personally, I am a firm believer that it's not about being the biggest bat company, but it's about being the best.
Every one of the bats we made have a significant meaning, to us and our #TeamTater players. There's a lot of detail in each of the bats.

Starling Marte - Pittsburgh Pirates

Better known as "TATO", Marte has crushed 17 bombs this year-to-date accompanied with 57 RBIs. He is the first graduate of the Pirates' Latin American complex, located in the Dominican Republic, to reach the Bigs. Below is his custom SM6 Players Weekend Bat which illustrates the love for the Pirates and Roberto Clemente. It's all about the #STARPOWER -- If you look closely there are 6 stars to pay homage to Marte.

Gregory Polanco - Pittsburgh Pirates

Nicknamed "El Coffee", Polanco got his nickname back when he was about 15 from one of his coaches. It actually has nothing to do with drinking coffee but the fact of someone he looked like. He switches on and off between two of our models, the XL5 and his custom G25. This Dominican flag bat not only shows his love for the country but has coffee beans all over the handle! Below is Polanco's Dominican Flag Players Weekend Bat.

Yan Gomes - Cleveland Indians

I had the opportunity to finally meet Yan this week at Fenway where he went yaya hitting a bomb over the Green Monster using his new Tater. He is the first Brazilian born player in major league history. With that being said, that inspired us to make this incredible work of art! Below is Yan Gomes Brazilian Flag Players Weekend bat.

Noel Cuevas - Colorado Rockies

Also known as "Nolo", Noel has been rocking with Tater for quite some time. He made his debut this year and I had the pleasure of meeting with him while he was in New York. Noel has one of the most intricate bats we have ever made. You will see the handle has the Puerto Rico flag which transitions to the Camuy flag (his hometown). Noel is currently in AAA, but we expect and look forward to him getting called up again!

Thank you #TeamTater

I want to give a special thank you to Mario Letterman who has been close to the family for my entire life. He was even there when I was born! Mario took our ideas and brought them to life!

Special thank yous also go to my family, Chuck, and everyone else who played a part in coming up with these designs.
