Tater BB34 — The Slow Pitch Wood Bat
Slow pitch wood bat design comes down to one trade-off — barrel size versus swing speed. Most wood bats either give you a big barrel that swings heavy or a fast bat with a smaller hitting surface. The BB34 splits the difference. Larger barrel for more contact area. Balanced 28 oz weight for quick swings. The wood softball bat that doesn't make you choose.
This is a balanced softball bat built for both ends of the experience curve. New slow pitch hitters get a forgiving large barrel that hides off-center contact. Veteran slow pitch players get the bat speed and placement control to drive balls to specific gaps. The 28 oz softball bat weight stays manageable inning after inning.
Why slow pitch hitters pick the BB34
Slow pitch softball rewards barrel control more than raw bat speed. Pitches come in slow and high, which gives the hitter time to read and adjust. The BB34 is built for that style of play. The large barrel creates a forgiving sweet spot. The balanced 28 oz weight lets you stay through the ball without overcommitting. The slow pitch softball wood bat profile that works for the modern game.
Why a wood softball bat vs an alloy or composite
Wood bats teach the hitter mechanics that aluminum and composite bats let you skip. With wood, off-center contact gives weaker exit velocity, so the hitter learns to square the ball up. With aluminum, the bat does some of the work for you. Hitters who train with wood become better hitters when they pick up an alloy bat for a league game. The BB34 is also legal in most slow pitch leagues that allow wood bats (check your league's specific bat rules before ordering).
